Summary

The paper reports the air-conditioning system introduced in the private ward of the St. Luke's International Hospital. The ceiling is cooled by the attached airflow discharged horizontally from the slot-type supply opening near the ceiling. This system avoids the uncomfortable cold draft from supply air. In order to avoid the hot radiation and remove the heat load from the window and the outer wall, the inside of the double structured outer wall and the space between the window and the shade are planned to be the return route of the room air. After the opening of the hospital, the actual thermal environment in the hospital room was measured. The processed and results of these studies are shown.
