REPORTS THE RESULTS OF DETAILED STUDIES OF THE PERFORMANCE OF DEHUMIDIFIER COILS OVER A RANGE OF FACE VELOCITIES AND PSYCHROMETRIC CONDITIONS. SHOWS THAT DEHUMIDIFICATION EFFICIENCY CAN BE INCREASED SIGNIFICANTLY BY THE USE OF LOW FACE VELOCITIES AND SHALLOW COILS, CONTRARY TO CONVENTIONAL PRACTICE, PRODUCING SUBSTANTIAL ENERGY SAVINGS. REFERS TO A DETAILED INDEPENDENT STUDY OF THE TECHNICAL AND ECONOMIC COSTS AND BENEFITS OF USING THE LOW FACE VELOCITY METHOD OF AIR CONDITIONING IN THE NEW BUILDING PLANNED FOR AN INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT TERMINAL BUILDING IN NORTHERN TROPICAL AUSTRALIA. NOTE THE SYSTEM CAN ALSO BE EXTENDED TO HOT DRY CLIMATES.
