Author(s) : ARKHAROV A., SAVINOV M., POZNYAK V., et al.

Summary

In Russia, the Company "Chromium Ltd.", the leading organization in extraction of rare inert gases of high and superhigh frequency, has developed a series of new installations for extraction of Kr-Xe mixture (KXM), called "Chrom-3". The technological scheme of the installation is based on new patented technical solutions that make it possible to reduce by 30-40% the operating costs, to reduce the related capital costs, improve reliability and blasting safety of technological processes which ensure the appropriate reduction in the cost of KXM production. New data are received on processes of hydrocarbon burning-off from krypton concentrate (KrC) using new types of catalysts. Power-effective technology for pressure increase in flows of gas and fluids applying a liquid column and vapour lift have been developed. New data are received on the complete evaporation of liquid O2 with Kr and Xe admixtures and on their basis the respective devices are developed and their working capability is proven in the course of industrial operation. Characteristics of rectification columns with structured packing material for separation of the O2-Kr-Xe mixture are studied; the steady work of a column is confirmed at variations of the F-factor from 0.5 to 2.0. On the basis of industrial operation results the comparative data were obtained on thermodynamic efficiency of installations "Chrom-3", USK-1M, USK-0.45.
