Summary

This paper presents a case study in which a traditional HVAC system and systems with chemical dehumidification are compared. Dynamic simulation codes, DOE and DesiCalcTM, and hourly data TRY, elaborated for this purpose, have been used. Energy consumption and annual operating costs have been estimated, showing noteworthy savings connected to the systems with chemical dehumidification. Considerable reduction of electric energy demand as well as close control of inner thermo-hygrometric conditions were noticed.
