Summary
The design of natural-cold storage devices, with or without heat pipes, is described, along with the operating principles involved. The main operating elements of the storage device are the hermetic bellows filled with a thermal storage medium, for example, water and a gas that forms hydrates (natural gas, pure hydrocarbons, refrigerant fluids, etc.). The bellows are made of a material with a thermomechanical memory. The storage devices can be used in ventilation or air-conditioning systems in individual homes or rural buildings. The heat-pipe scheme is used in ground-freezing systems. C.C.
