Summary
A THEORETICAL DESIGN METHOD IS INVESTIGATED AND THE VALIDITY OF THE METHOD IS CONFIRMED EXPERIMENTALLY BY TESTING TWO TYPES OF EXPERIMENTAL EQUIPMENT. IT WAS CONCLUDED THAT HEAT PIPES ARE VERY EFFECTIVE FOR ICE MAKING DUE TO THE EXCELLENT HEAT TRANSFER PERFORMANCE. COMPACT THERMAL STORAGE SYSTEMS CAN BE DESIGNED BY UTILIZING HEAT PIPES.
