THE A. COMPARES DIRECT HALOCARBON AND AMMONIA ICE RINK SYSTEMS WITH INDIRECT SYSTEMS IN WHICH A CALCIUM CHLORIDE BRINE IS CIRCULATED FROM A PACKAGED COOLING UNIT. A SYSTEM IS SHOWN ALSO WHICH UTILISES A HEAT PUMP TO PROVIDE HEATING WATER USING THE CONDENSER OF THE ICE RINK PLANT AS A HEAT SOURCE.
