This report was presented to the Commercial Refrigerator Manufacturers Association on 12 January, 1988 and provides a brief description of the elements to be considered by commercial refrigeration manufacturers as a result of CFC regulations. The chief concerns of manufacturers include performance of existing installations, redesign of products currently in production and design of new products. This Paper discusses the use of alternative refrigerants and substitutes and the impact on product design and development.
