IMPROVE CROSSFLOW COOLING TOWER OPERATION.
Author(s) : BURGER R.
Type of article: Article
Summary
MODERN COOLING TOWER TECHNOLOGY INCLUDES FIBRE GLASS EPOXY RESIN AIRFOIL PROPELLERS IN PLACE OF CRUDE ALUMINIUM FAN BLADES, ALSO VENTURI STACKS FOR VELOCITY RECOVERY AT AIR OUTLET. ELIMINATOR SLATS AND FILL BARS ARE REDESIGNED AS PERFORATED PLASTIC V-BARS, AND SPRAY NOZZLE DESIGN HAS IMPROVED. UPDATING EXISTING COOLING TOWERS MAY WELL ANSWER INCREASED THROUGHPUT REQUIREMENTS OR A LOWER OUTLET TEMPERATURE. THE AUTHOR STATES AN ACTUAL CASE AS ILLUSTRATION. D.W.H.
