THE AUTHORS ENVISAGED THE USE OF A COLD AIR REFRIGERATING MACHINE OPERATING WITH AN OPEN < EXPANDER-HEAT EXCHANGER-COMPRESSOR > CIRCUIT, WITH RAREFACTION BETWEEN THE EXPANDER AND THE COMPRESSOR FOR THE AIR CONDITIONERS OF CRANE CABS, AIR WASHER WITH A TEMPERATURE UP TO 423 K (150 DEG C). IN ORDER TO IMPROVE EFFICIENCY, WATER IS FED IN THE LOW PRESSURE SIDE. WATER EVAPORATION INCREASES THE REFRIGERATION FACTOR OF THE MACHINE BY 3 TO 4 TIMES. THE COOLING TEMPERATURE OF CONDITIONED AIR DEPENDS LITTLE ON AMBIENT AIR TEMPERATURE.
