Improving energy efficiency of built-in refrigerators.

Number: pap. 227

Author(s) : GEPPERT J., STAMMINGER R.

Summary

In the present study, experimental and computational (CFD) investigations were carried out to address installation conditions that have significant effects on the energy efficiency of built-in refrigerators. In particular, the focus here is on accelerating heat removal from the condenser and, by implication, on reducing the condenser’s temperature, which is the most crucial factor for refrigerators’ energy consumption. The results of both, experimental and numerical (CFD) approaches are presented.
