Summary

HEAT EXCHANGE WAS SUBSTANTIALLY INTENSIFIED AND ITS EFFECTIVENESS PRACTICALLY DOUBLED FOR R12 AND R22 BY USING POROUS CAPILLARY SURFACES AND METAL NET COVERS FOR HEAT EXCHANGE TUBES. HEAT EXCHANGE LOSSES WITH METAL NET COVERS WERE ABOUT 10% LESS THAN IN THE CASE OF SIMILAR FINNED TUBES. THE AA. PRESENT A DETAILED COMPARATIVE STUDY OF VARIOUS HEAT EXCHANGE SURFACES FOR EVAPORATOR TUBING AND ALSO GIVE SOME RECOMMENDATIONS. E.K.
