Indirect determination of refrigerant mass flow to estimate the current value of energy efficiency in small-scale systems.

Author(s) : ZHYVYTSYA Y., VAYNFELD E., GLAZEVA O., et al.

Summary

A possible approach for a continuous measurement of energy efficiency in refrigeration plant is shown. The task was to give the reliable and accurate data about the specific electrical power consumption per refrigeration output to the end user (operator). This data should be compared with the correspondent design data to make a reasonable decision to manage this refrigeration plant. The proposed system could be installed in the small-scale commercial or domestic refrigerators for traces of their energy efficiency. This system is taking into account the following values: the determined amount of produced artificial cold and the measured amount of consumed electrical energy; both values should be determined within the well-grounded and chosen by the user (operator) time interval. The suggested approach allows to make an evaluation for a given refrigeration plant from the energy-efficiency point of view.
