[In Dutch. / En néerlandais.]
Author(s) : WAL J. F. van der
Type of article: Article
Summary
Points out that the use of organic materials increases indoor air pollution because of the emission of volatiles from building materials, furniture and carpets, and consumer products. Presents a survey of emission sources, transfer mechanisms of emissions, groups of materials and their emissions, current health-related criteria plus standards and guidelines for the measurement of emissions. Concludes by recommending the development and use of low-emission materials and products, since ventilation is not always an adequate solution.
