THE ADVANTAGES OF HIGH SIDE FLOAT CONTROL AGAINST LOW SIDE FLOAT CONTROL ARE DISCUSSED, BUT EITHER CAN BE ACCOMPLISHED USING A NEW PILOT OPERATED EXPANSION VALVE AND A CONTROLLING FLOAT WITH PROPORTIONAL AND INTEGRAL CONTROL CHARACTERISTICS THE VALVE IS OPERATED BY A HEAT MOTOR THROUGH CHANGES IN A SELF INDUCTION COIL ON THE FLOAT SYSTEM, PRODUCING A FULLY MODULATING CONTROL.
