Summary

IT IS PARTICULARLY DIFFICULT TO STABILIZE THE EVAPORATOR SUPERHEAT WITH VARIABLE COMPRESSOR CAPACITY, HENCE THE AUTHOR CARRIED OUT SYSTEM TESTS WITH AN ELECTRONIC EXPANSION VALVE IN ORDER TO INVESTIGATE ITS RESPONSE CHARACTERISTICS WITH REGARD TO THE EVAPORATOR SUPERHEAT AND COMPRESSOR SPEED WHICH WAS CONTROLLED BY AN INVERTER OPERATED ELECTRICAL MOTOR. REFRIGERANT FEED AND COMPRESSOR CAPACITY WERE MONITORED BY SENSORS IN THE EVAPORATOR SUPERHEAT AND IN THE AIR INLET TO THE EVAPORATOR. THE TEST RESULTS SHOWED MUCH IMPROVED SYSTEM PERFORMANCE OF AN AIR CONDITIONING INSTALLATION.
