Summary
One of the most critical aspects of local extraction systems and contamination control in work spaces is preliminary evaluation of the capture efficiency of the solutions adopted. The paper reports on data on the first experimental step of research that led first to the definition of a model able to estimate the efficiency of a push-pull system where an air jet or blade drives contaminants to the extraction hood before indoor diffusion. The research started with the realization of real scale equipment whose aim was to select the application range of the model. The paper reports on the data obtained and the considerations that will enable validation of a sizing tool.
