Summary
The compressor is a major source of energy consumption in all refrigeration systems, particular where thesystem is operating with a reduced charge. For this reason, the author investigated a screw compressor using a test rig in order to determine the most economical refrigerant flow rate reduction system: i.e. le a sliding flow regulation system, a sliding flow regulating system, or a variable speed system. The conclusion emerged as evident.
