Summary

A TEST SET-UP IS DESCRIBED AND DATA HAVE BEEN OBTAINED ON THE RESPONSE OF A CAPILLARY TUBE AND A PLUG ORIFICE TO A STEP CHANGE IN REFRIGERANT FLOW CONDITIONS. THE TRANSIENT DATA EXHIBITED RESPONSE TIMES ON THE ORDER OF 3 TO 5 MINUTES FOR THE CAPILLARY TUBE AND 30 TO 40 SECONDS FOR THE PLUG ORIFICE. THE EFFECTS OF THESE DIFFERING RESPONSE TIMES ON THE TRANSIENT RESPONSE OF A COMPLETE SYSTEM MAY OR MAY NOT BE INSIGNIFICANT ; THEY ARE NOT CONSIDERED AT THIS TIME.
