Summary

THE EXISTENCE OF TWINNING PLANES NEAR THE SURFACE OF A SUPERCONDUCTOR IS SHOWN TO CAUSE AN INCREASE IN THE SURFACE SUPERCONDUCTIVITY NUCLEATION FIELD. PHASE DIAGRAMS (MAGNETIC FIELD, TEMPERATURE) VARIABLES FOR VARIOUS CASES OF RELATIVE POSITION OF TWINNING PLANE AND SUPERCONDUCTOR SURFACE ARE CALCULATED. THE RESULTS ARE INDICATIVE OF PHENOMENA TYPICAL OF THE CONSIDERED MECHANISM OF ENHANCEMENT OF SURFACE SUPERCONDUCTIVITY.
