Summary

FOR EVALUATION OF THE COLD INFLUENCE ON THE WORKERS HEALTH 3 GROUPS WERE MEDICALLY INVESTIGATED: MEN EXPOSED TO 251 K AND EXECUTING PHYSICAL WORK ; MEN EMPLOYED AT THE SAME JOB BUT EXPOSED TO 243 K AND WOMEN WORKING AT ABOUT 268 K WITHOUT PHYSICAL EFFORT. IN ALL 3 GROUPS CHRONIC INFLAMMATORY DISEASES OF UPPER RESPIRATORY TRACT WERE FREQUENT ; OSTEOARTHROPATIC PAINS WERE MORE MANIFESTED IN OLDER WORKERS. IN WORKERS EXPOSED TOTHE LOWEST TEMPERATURE HANDS AND FEET SKIN WAS CYANOTIC OR PALE ; THE FINGER NAILS BED CAPILLARIES WERE PREDOMINANTLY ATONIC. SKIN DAMAGES IN WOMEN WERE CYANOSIS, RUSH AND FINGERS SWELLING. SOME PREVENTIVE MEASURES ARE SUGGESTED.
