Summary
The large auditorium is used for sports events and concerts, giving problems of long air throws with a low noise level, and good acoustics. Maximum flexibility is needed for economical use of the different facilities. Advantage has been taken of the stratification of air in the high spaces. The design team set a unique 19-point programme of design, energy conservation, control, operation, safety and overall economy. A.R.T.
