Inspection, monitoring and benchmarking of refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump systems.

Number: pap. n. E403

Summary

The recent European legislative documents on F-gas and energy efficiency of buildings have introduced the compulsory inspection of Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Heat Pump (RACHP) systems. Italy has adopted these norms by introducing specific operative tools such as the register of refrigeration equipment, the log book of the HVAC system and the energy efficiency report. This is certainly an important first step towards the achievement of the European 2020 Energy Strategy goals, in view of the adoption of comprehensive methods for the analysis of the overall energy performance of systems, aimed at identifying the applicable energy conservation opportunities by comparison with suitable benchmarks, as pointed out by the recent Harmonac and iSERVcmb research projects, funded within the IEE program.
