Summary

THE EFFECT OF POLYATOMIC ALCOHOLS ON THE INTENSITY OF THE HEAT EXCHANGE AT THE ABSORBER OF ABSORPTION MACHINES OPERATING WITH LITHIUM BROMIDE WAS STUDIED. THE USE OF ISOOCTYLIC ALCOHOL INTENSIFIES THIS EXCHANGE IN AN ABSORBER WITH HORIZONTAL TUBES, AND, MOREOVER, DECREASES THE CRITICAL DENSITY OF FLOW, WHICH MAKES IT POSSIBLE TO AVOID THE RECIRCULATION OF THE SOLUTION IN THIS DEVICE. THE RELATIONSHIP FOR THE DETERMINATION OF THE INTENSITY OF HEAT TRANSFER, IN THE PRESENCE OF ISOOCTYLIC ALCOHOL, IN A WIDE RANGE OF VARIATIONS IN THE CONCENTRATION OF THE SOLUTIONS, IS MENTIONED AND ANALYSED. AN ABSORPTION THERMOTRANSFORMER WITHOUT RECIRCULATION OF THE SOLUTION IN THE ABSORBER HAS BEEN DEVELOPED.
