Summary

MINIMUM VENTILATION RATES AS DEFINED IN ASHRAE STANDARD 62-1981 AND OTHER BUILDING CODES MIGHT BE ACCEPTED IN LAW AS SUFFIC IENT. THE ENGINEER SHOULD BE AWARE OF LOWER FRESH AIR QUANTITIES AT LIGHT LOAD WITH CERTAIN SYSTEMS (SUCH AS VAV), EVEN WITH FULL BUILDING OCCUPATION, AND MAY BE HELD NEGLIGENT IF THE USER IS NOT WARNED OF THIS DEFICIENCY. THE NEW STANDARD 62-1989 PLACES GREATER RESPONSIBILITY ON THE DESIGNER WITH REGARD TO INDOOR AIR QUALITY. A.R.T.
