Summary

The model of the flow around a damper can be regarded as a confined wall jet and the relation between the turbulent factor and the inclination of the confined wall has been examined. It has been confirmed that the conception of the confined wall jet is able to be applied to the flow around a damper and that the turbulent factor varies with the opening angle of the damper. The flow pattern around a damper indicates three typical regions and the resistance coefficient of a damper is related to the flow pattern.
