Leakage flow-induced vibrations of heat exchanger fins.
Author(s) : WEAVER D. S., HUANG X. Y.
Type of article: Article
Summary
The failure of a number of fins of a large two-stage reciprocating compressor intercooler was studied. The excitation mechanism and a method of prevention are proposed. A series of laboratory experiments, designed to confirm the hypothesized mechanism, are described in detail.
