Summary
There are two types of legionellosis: nonfatal Pontiac fever, whose main symptom is a slight fever, and acute pneumonia, whose main symptom is severe bacterial pneumonia. Both clinical and laboratory diagnosis are required. The methods of laboratory diagnosis and treatment are described.
