Summary

THE LEGIONELLA INFECTIONS IN SOME HOTELS IN DALMATIA, FORCED THE AUTHORS TO SEEK NEW SOLUTIONS REGARDING TECHNICAL AND ECONOMICAL PARAMETERS. SHOCK CHLORINATION AND MAINTAINING CONSIDERABLE HIGH RESIDUAL CHLORINE CONCENTATIONS CAUSED VERY HIGH CORROSION AND MAINTENANCE EXPENDITURE. THE AUTHORS CONSIDER PRELIMINARY TREATING OF SUPPLY WATER WITH CONSIDERABLE DOSES OF HYPOCHLORITE AND, FINALLY, REDUCTION OF THE CHLORINE CONCENTRATION WITH THIOSULPHATE OR SOMETHING ELSE.
