Summary

A pure hydrogen production facility with a capacity of 4.4 tons/day has been in operation at Ingolstadt since 1992. The plant uses raw gas from a refinery. After purification, the hydrogen gas can either be liquefied or delivered as high-pressure gas. In addition to liquefaction the facility comprises liquid hydrogen storage and filling stations. The concept of the facility and the individual processes are described as well as the main components of this pure hydrogen plant.
