LIQUID MIXTURES SEPARATION IN A FREEZING-OUT PROCESS.

Author(s) : GRADON L., ORLICKI D.

Type of article: Article

Summary

THE AUTHORS PRESENT A MATHEMATICAL MODEL FOR FREEZING OUT A COMPONENT FROM A BICOMPONENT ALLOY THAT FORMS A EUTECTIC. THE MODEL TAKES INTO ACCOUNT THE CHANGE OF PHYSICOCHEMICAL PARAMETERS OF THE PROCESS WITH TIME AND FREEZING-OUT SPACE AND THE OCCLUSION PHENOMENA ON THE PHASE BOUNDARY. FROM THE NUMERICAL SOLUTION THE EFFECT OF THE PROCESS PARAMETERS ON THE EFFICIENCY OF SEPARATION MEASURED BY THE SEPARATION COEFFICIENT CAN BE DETERMINED.
