LNG baseload plant in remote North-West of China: LNG travels through China.
Author(s) : BRÄUTIGAM M.
Type of article: Article, Case study
Summary
The first large-scale LNG baseload plant in China is being erected in Shan Shan in Xinjiang province. The nominal production capacity of the faculty is approx. 430 000 metric tons per year. The liquid natural gas produced by the plant will be transported over several thousand kilometers to consumers on the East Coast of China. The technical and logistic challenges of the construction of the plant are enormous and the climatic conditions extreme: temperature differences of 70 °C between winter and summer are common.
