Summary
THE OBJECTIVE OF THE PAPER IS TO DESCRIBE THE DEVELOPMENT OF NEW SHIPS AND THE SOLUTIONS FOR SATISFYING THE PRESENT AND PREDICTED REQUIREMENTS OF SHIPOWNERS AND CHARTERERS, BASED ON EXPERIENCE GAINED. STUDIES WERE CARRIED OUT BY A CLOSE COORDINATION BETWEEN THE ENGINEERING COMPANY AND THE CLASSIFICATION SOCIETY. THE AIM WAS TO DEVELOP SAFE AND ECONOMICAL SHIPS WHILE RESPECTING REGULATIONS.
