Summary
The purpose of the presented work is to study the use of external mixed refrigerant cooling cycles for the production of liquid nitrogen. With a mathematical model, various options for the composition of the mixed refrigerant and the operating modes of the units are calculated, which make possible to achieve nitrogen liquefaction temperatures using the available apparatus. Experimental studies are carried out for various design modes. On the basis of experimental data, recommendations given for the design of low-capacity nitrogen liquefaction plants.
