Pre-cooling systems in modern hydrogen liquefaction.

Summary

The research work presents recommendations for choosing a circuit design for low-capacity hydrogen liquefaction plants around 20 kg/h or 0,48 tpd. The main criteria considered are specific energy cost, as well as capital cost and overall characteristics of the system. In the course of the work, a review of theoretical and real hydrogen liquefaction cycles are reviewed, mathematical modeling of circuit design is carried out with taking into account the real parameters of the equipment. The advantages and disadvantages of certain technological solutions are identified and the trend of increasing the efficiency of hydrogen liquefaction plants is determined. Based on the results of the analysis, the main circuit elements for low-capacity hydrogen liquefaction plants are selected.
