Summary

A GENERALIZATION OF THE MALEEV-DYSON TRANSFORMATION IS PROPOSED FOR MAGNETIC SYSTEMS WHICH POSSESS BESIDE SPIN-SPIN EXCHANGE, TENSOR INTERACTION AS WELL, VIZ SINGLE-ION ANISOTROPY AND (OR) HIGHER ORDER EXCHANGE INTERACTION. AS AN APPLICATION THE LOW TEMPERATURE PROPERTIES OF A FERROMAGNETIC WITH AN EASY PLANE SINGLE-ION ANISOTROPY IN A MAGNETIC FIELD PERPENDICULAR TO THE EASY PLANE ARE STUDIED. THE EXISTENCE OF THREE PRINCIPALLY DIFFERENT TYPES OF SPIN CONFIGURATIONS IS PREDICTED, ONLY ONE CORRESPONDING TO THE USUAL FERROMAGNETIC STRUCTURE.
