Lubrication limits of rolling element bearings in refrigeration compressors.

Author(s) : JONSSON U. J., HANSSON N.

Summary

A bearing test apparatus has been designed to test axial and radial rolling element bearings under conditions similar to those to be found in full-scale refrigeration compressors. Three tests were made to study the influence of refrigerant concentration. Four angular contact ball bearings have been tested using two different lubricants. One test aimed at comparing the influence of lubricant structure on bearing wear rate.
