Making the right refrigerant lubricant choices.

Number: pap. n. 338

Author(s) : KARNAZ J., KULTGEN D.

Summary

System longevity and energy efficiency are important concepts that need to be considered when developing air conditioning and refrigeration equipment. Lubricant development can be key to maintaining and meeting system performance goals and requirements. Today refrigerant lubricant suppliers are called upon to be closely involved with the OEM providing the required data, system specific recommendations, support and global product availability. The most important things you need to know when developing a refrigeration lubricant are: 1) type of refrigerant; 2) type of compressor; and 3) system design and operating parameters. This information allows for a starting point and first look approach to developing a direction that will have the best chance of success in product development.
