Summary

THE IMPURITY CONCENTRATION SHOULD BE REDUCED FAR BELOW 0.1 PPM BY VOLUME FOR A RELIABLE AND STABLE OPERATION OF HELIUM REFRIGERATORS. THE IMPURE GASES ARE REMOVED BY SEPARATORS PLACED AT A ROOM TEMPERATURE AND FURTHER BY < A HIGH TEMPERATURE COLD BOX > EQUIPPED WITH A LOW TEMPERATURE ADSORPTION BED. A SCALE MODEL EXPERIMENT CLOSE TO AN ACTUAL SIZE WAS PERFORMED. THE PAPER DESCRIBES THE PERFORMANCE TESTING DATA OF THOSE SEPARATING UNITS.
