Mass diffusivity measurements for ammonia-vapour absorption processes.

Author(s) : KOJIMA M., KASHIWAGI T.

Summary

The study experimentally investigated various ammonia-salt systems which do not need rectification, and ammonia-water + salt systems which can reduce rectification heat losses. Measurements of mass diffusivity for various ammonia-salt systems were carried out, and the influence of additive on ternary systems was also investigated. The mass diffusivity of ammonia-salt absorbent solutions is lower than that of the ammonia-water system. In the case of surfactant addition into ternary systems, interfacial disturbance caused by Marangoni convection was observed. Higher absorption enhancement was achieved by adding surfactant to the absorbent solutions.
