Summary
A mixture of pollen from 5 apple cultivars was stored at -20 deg C for 6 or 12 months. Pollen germination frequency was 67.1-73.4% after 6 months and 65.1-66% after 12 months. Pollen stored at 2 deg C showed a greater reduction in germinability after 12 months, while at 12 deg C the reduction was very marked (5.7 and 5% respectively).
