Summary

AMONG THE THERMODYNAMIC PROPERTIES, INFORMATION ON THE LIQUID HEAT CAPACITY AND ITS TEMPERATURE VARIATION IS UNFORTUNATELY SCARCE. FOR 7 ORGANIC FLUIDS, OFTEN CITED AS REFRIGERANTS, DIRECT CALORIMETRIC MEASUREMENTS OF HEAT CAPACITY ARE MADE AT 293 TO 403 K (20 TO 130 DEG C). A CRITICAL ANALYSIS OF ESTIMATION MODELS, SUCH AS THOSE BASED ON THE CORRESPONDING STATES AND ON THE GROUP CONTRIBUTION METHOD, ARE ELABORATED. IN MOST CASES, AND AT LOW PRESSURE, THE GROUP CONTRIBUTION METHOD DEVELOPED BY MISSENARD IS GENERALLY THE BEST ONE.
