Measurements of the surface tension and density for ethanol and 1-butanol.

Summary

The experimental data of the surface tension and saturated liquid density for ethanol and 1-butanol were obtained. In addition, the surface-tension correlation as well as saturated liquid-density correlations were made by the least squares fitting on the basis of these data. The surface-tension correlation of ethanol and 1-butanol can reproduced with the average deviation of plus or minus 0.04 and 0.10 mN/m, respectively. The saturated liquid-density correlation of both ethanol and 1-butanol can be reproduced with the average deviation within plus or minus 0.02 kg/m3.
