MEASUREMENTS OF THE THERMAL CHARACTERISTICS OF INSULANTS AT LOW TEMPERATURES, BY MEANS OF A HEAT FLOWMETER METHOD.

MESURES DES CARACTERISTIQUES THERMIQUES DES ISOLANTS, A BASSES TEMPERATURES, A L'AIDE D'UNE METHODE FLUXMETRIQUE.

Summary

THE DEVELOPMENT OF A NEWTYPE OF HEAT FLOWMETER WITH HIGHLY PERFORMING CHARACTERISTICS, IS PRESENTED TOGETHER WITH ITS USE IN A SINGLE SPECIMEN APPARATUS, WORKING ACCORDING TO THE SO CALLED HEAT FLOWMETER METHOD, RECENTLY STANDARDIZED UNDER ISO/TC 163. THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY MEASUREMENTS, PERFORMED AT MEAN TEMPERATURES OF ABOUT 243 K (-30 DEG C) ON LARGE POPULATIONS OF SPECIMENS, ALLOW TO INCREASE PRESENT KNOWLEDGE ON THE EXISTING CORRELATIONS BETWEEN THE THERMAL RESISTANCE OF PRODUCTS AND THEIR STRUCTURE PARAMETERS, ESPECIALLY POROSITY AND SPECIFIC AREA.
