Summary

After a summary of various physical properties of liquid nitrogen, difficulties in measuring a cryogenic flow rate are presented. In this context, certain flow-meter principles are reviewed. None allow for precise measurements of cryogenic fluids when a gas phase is generated upstream of the flow meter. A new technique is then presented. Its principle is based on separation, measurements and the summing up of respective flows of the liquid and gas phase. It then allows for measurement of the double-phased flow with a 3% accuracy.
