Summary

STRUCTURAL AND FUNCTIONAL ASPECTS OF THE EFFECT OF ULTRALOW TEMPERATURESON THE MEMBRANES OF PLANT CELLS DIFFERENT IN THE HYDRATION DEGREE ARE DISCUSSED. THE CONCLUSION IS DRAWN THAT THE BASIC PRINCIPLES IN FORMATION OF PLANT MEMBRANE CRYORESISTANCE ARE THE LOWERING OF THEIR FUNCTIONAL ACTIVITY, A DECREASE INTHE HYDROPHILIC NATURE AND AN INCREASE IN THE PACKAGE DENSITY OF THE COMPONENTS IN THE RANGES NOT DISTURBING CELL NATURE.
