Summary
THIS PAPER PRESENTS THE RESULTS OF THE APPLICATION OF A MODEL, PREVIOUSLY WORKED OUT FOR A REFRIGERATING PLANT, WITH VERTICAL BOILER HAVING PELLICULAR FLOW OF NH3-H2O SOLUTION. THE SIZES OF THE BOILING PIPES AND A MASS TRANSFER COEFFICIENT HAVE BEEN OBTAINED AND THESE VALUES ARE APPLICABLE TO DESIGN SUCH HEAT AND MASS EXCHANGERS SURFACES UNDER DIFFERENT ASSUMPTIONS WHICH DEVIATE FROM THOSE PREVIOUSLY USED FOR SUCH UNITS.
