Methyl jasmonate and long term storage of fresh cut peony flowers.
Author(s) : GAST K.
Summary
Flowers were evaluated at 6, 8 and 10 weeks of cold storage at 0 °C. Disease incidence and flower performance were recorded. At 6 weeks, the methyl jasmonate and silver thiosulphate and floral preservative treatment resulted in the lowest disease incidence over all plant parts. At 8 weeks, methyl jasmonate improved the open vase life of the flowers, and at 10 weeks, methyl jasmonate-treated flowers were larger.
