Modelling of a compression-absorption heat pump prototype using falling film absorber and desorber.

Author(s) : LOTTIN O., LACLAVERIE M., FEIDT M., et al.

Summary

The paper concerns the modelling of the desorber and the absorber of a compression-absorption heat pump. The models consider the coupled heat and mass transfer phenomena that take place into the liquid absorbent and into the gas. The exchange surfaces of the reactors (absorber and desorber) are included as parameters and the heat pump simulation software can be easily utilized for their design. The sensitivity of the software to the variations of the main parameters of the models of the desorber and absorber (coefficients of heat and mass transfer, exchange surfaces, etc.) is explored and some conclusions about the design of heat pumps are drawn.
