Modelling of a compression refrigeration plant for fault simulation.

Author(s) : GRIMMELIUS H. T.

Summary

The paper shows that diagnostic expert systems should be based on knowledge concerning the behaviour of the monitored equipment during malfunctioning, especially if such systems are to be used as an early warning system. Simulation models can provide such knowledge a priori, enabling the creation of an effective diagnostic strategy without expensive tests and measurements. A case study is presented for a liquid chiller.
